Take These Steps To Detox Your Bedding Now!

Hello again. If you are thinking of detoxing your bedding here are four thing you can do to get the processed started.

  • Get rid of wrinkle-free sheets, blankets and pillow cases. Try 100% flax linen instead or pure untreated cotton. Both are breathable.

  • Sleepwear are often treated with flame-retardant. Get rid of those as well. Flame retardant means it will help to slow the flame from spreading and reduce smoke for a limited time. The problem is. all flame-retardant materials and chemicals are toxic to humans. These chemicals are related to a litany of illnesses that includes but not limited to infertility and cancer. And just in case you were thinking, flame retardants can be found in office chairs, kids’ car seats, easy chairs, kitchen appliances, sofa, electronics and carpet padding, just to name a few. Remember, fire fighters only wear their uniform until the fire goes out. Not 24/7. Why do we need to sleep in flame-retardant sleepwear each and every single day? We don’t.

  • You also want to get rid of it’s cousin, flame-resistant as well. Flame resistant means it can basically withstand a very high temperature before the person or item begins to burn. Fire example, firefighters wear flame-retardant cloth.

  • Mattress with Polyurethane should be hauled out as well. Most mattress contain polyurethane foam. This chemical emits common volatile organic compounds (VOCs) while you sleep. See if natural latex will work for you.
